One of the most lauded Folk Horror novels of the last year is making the leap to immersive audio. Winner of the Dracula Society’s Children of the Night Award, and shortlisted for the British Fantasy Society’s Best Horror Novel, David Barnett’s Withered Hill series now comprises four connected novels, concluding with Twisted Pike in 2027.

In 2026, we’re inviting you to step inside that world, in the form of a limited series immersive audio presentation.

The Devil’s Sound expands the world created in Withered Hill, telling a new story designed specifically for immersive audio. Delivered in six weekly instalments, it builds toward a conclusion that sits between books three and four in Barnett’s series of novels.

All you’ll need is a smartphone and a willingness to suspend your disbelief. And be scared out of your wits.
